Tested: What I Noticed about Zippi Sweeper
First up, the product has a great benefits as advertised. So, I purchased the Zippi Sweeper straight from the website as I wanted something for those little messes that occur throughout the day. In fact, I was quite happy with it for the first couple of months.
On my hard floors, it seemed to be able to pick up food crumbs, pet hair, small bits of dirt and other debris very well. I also appreciated the front light as it would make it easier to see under furniture, sofas, etc., where dust would be a problem. Whenever someone dropped cereal or the dog tracked dirt into the house, it saved me from taking out my full size vacuum. However, after 6 months, its issues began to surface.
Zippi Sweeper Battery Life
The most problem I encountered was the battery. With the new sweeper, I can clean several rooms without really thinking about charging it. However, at about a few month, the battery life was significantly reduced. It only appears to run at full speed for about 10 minutes and then slows down. That brought to mind the old Swivel Sweepers I used to have.
The same was true of those, but at least replacing the batteries was possible when they failed. I checked the company’s website, and visited a number of online stores in an attempt to purchase a replacement battery for the Zippi Sweeper. Not one could be found. This is annoying as the sweeper still functions, but the battery restricts the usefulness of the sweeper.
Verdict
I believe it relies upon what you expect. You are likely to use it as a rapid sweep for hard floors then it could be helpful. That is in fact where it is best. If you think that it is going to do the same job as your vacuum, you are in for a surprise.
Most of my frustration was the fact that the battery life was diminishing after a few months, and I could not find batteries to replace them anywhere. There were no replacement brushes and that did not help. The two concerns alone make me wonder about the long term purchase of the sweeper.
