The Dyson HushJet Mini Cool Fan is claimed to be a compact cooling fan that delivers instant relief with its exclusive HushJet nozzle technology. The product promises a fresher air flow, lesser sound level and easy cooling of personal area. The experience with the fan was not particularly remarkable, but was satisfactory after a few minutes use. It was more like another mini cooling fan, providing a useful but lesser effective solution than others.
One of the more obvious ones was the consistent air flow it generated when used at a close range. The fan performed fairly satisfactory in small areas and was a boon on warm days. The cooling ability was not, however, great. Although it provided some relief, it failed to meet the promise of the advertising for “immediate cooling relief”.
I believe the product worked well for myself personally when it was in close proximity to me, say on a desk, or bedside table. The air flow was smooth and the fan was quieter than a few regular portable fans. Regardless, the effect was negligible by what had been expected from the advertising. It was not a substitute for more powerful cooling systems, but more of an auxiliary comfort device.
The product design was one thing that did impress me. The fan appeared modern, sleek and well-made which immediately creates a premium impression. It was small in size and aesthetically pleasing, fitting into various environments seamlessly. But, in addition to the pretty packaging, there was no 100% correspondence between the performance and the high expectations that the company was advertising.
Verdict
The Dyson HushJet Mini Cool Fan does not come close to personal cooling and a renewed breeze of fresh air as promised. Nevertheless, the experience was positive and the fan was adequate for smaller rooms. Although it is still a good alternative cooling solution, new customers should not have high expectations of it. The product is fairly effective and useful for minor personal cooling but its effect is not as strong as it is promoted.
